He was John James Sibson- conductor of the band for many years.My mum Freda lived in the Swan in the 30`s and the band was a big part of her life. She passed away on Jan 25TH aged 88.

| comment: | I have just read on your news page that Denis has recently passed away. He was a lovely man. After leaving Newhall Band in 1989, we exchanged Christmas cards with Denis and Edna, and then just Denis, every year, with a little message and an update. I am so sorry to have missed the funeral, as I would have liked to pay tribute to such a great bandsman and a real gentleman. He will be sadly missed. Rest in peace and God Bless, my friend.

I played in Newhall Band from 1983-1990(David Hutchinson conductor) and Dennis played 2nd Baritone on a number of occasions at contests with me, i remember him joining the band.
A nice friendly man who always gave 100% and someone who never let you down at all both on Contests & Concerts.
A friend that i will miss.
